Windows 8 operating system in Metro mode will not be able to print coupons from our site. The Coupons.com Coupon Printer utilizes an ActiveX control that has been disabled by Microsoft in Windows 8 Metro mode. You will have to switch to classic mode to be able to print coupons. From the Metro mode start screen, navigate to your desktop, open your browser of choice, visit our site to select and print coupons as you normally would.

Why am I told my printer or my printer settings are not supported?

This message will appear when the Coupon Printer detects that your printer is trying to save a digital copy of its print job, or when the Coupon Printer is unable to establish a connection with your printer.

If you are sure your printer is not set to save its print jobs, then check to see that your default printer is set to communicate using the proper printer port. If your printer is set up to print wirelessly through your network, you may have the incorrect communication port settings configured. Wireless and network printers must communicate through the TCP/IP port and may require a manual IP address.

To configure your printer port (wireless or network printing):

  1. Click the Start menu and select Control Panel
  2. Double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon ("Devices and Printers" on Windows 7)
  3. Right-click your default printer and select "Properties" ("Printer Properties" on Windows 7)
  4. Click on the "Ports" tab and select "Add Port..."
  5. Select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "New Port"
  6. Under port type, select the option for "Manual IP Address" and click Finish

This step should allow you to clear the error and restart the pending print job from your queue or resubmit the print request from your web browser.

Note: If your printer is connected via USB, this port setting should be set to the "USB Virtual Printer Port", which it will normally do automatically.

If you've verified that your port settings are correct and you are still encountering this error message, then try to print the coupon again using a different browser to determine if an issue exists with your current browser or elsewhere within your system.

Why can't I see the actual coupon before I print?

Our secure printing platform ensures that coupons will never display on screen, but will print directly to your printer. Before printing, make sure your default printer is on, connected, and has paper and ink or toner. Coupons cannot be printed to a fax machine or to digital formats such as PDF, so make sure your default printer is set to print to paper.

Why did I get a "Print Limit Reached" message when the coupon never printed?

Given that coupons are often quite valuable, many companies have limited how many times one person or household can print a coupon, how many total coupon printouts are available, or how long a coupon will be available. Unfortunately we do not have the ability to reset print limits for individual users.

Why do I need to install the Coupon Printer?

Coupons are often quite valuable; that's why many offer providers (e.g. manufacturers, retailers, etc.) require secure controls for distribution and printing of their coupons.

The Coupon Printer is a small, safe browser add-on that was created for one purpose: to enable your computer to build and print coupons upon request that conform to manufacturer and retailer requirements for redemption.

Additionally, it enables high-quality coupon prints that will scan easily at checkout. Installation is a quick and easy process, simply follow the step-by-step instructions. This plug-in has been engineered to run seamlessly with widely used Windows and Mac OS X operating systems and popular browsers. Once the plug-in is installed it will enable you to print future coupons without the need for additional downloads.

Why do my coupons print without any barcodes?

You may be attempting to print the web page itself and not the coupons. Please follow the steps discussed on “What do I need in order to print a coupon” section above.

Why does my antivirus software warn me when I download the Coupon Printer?

It may be that your antivirus settings are too high and blocking the installation. Please rest assured that we do not deliver viruses, trojans, malware, or adware with our download. If you find you are being blocked, you can disable your antivirus protections temporarily, install the Coupon Printer, re-enable your antivirus protections and then print coupons.

Why does my computer not recognize that the Coupon Printer is installed?

If you are using Internet Explorer, the ActiveX control for the Coupon Printer may have been disabled during installation.

  1. Please look for the ActiveX bar (also called the Windows Information Bar) which may appear across the top of the web page if you're using Internet Explorer 7.
  2. The Windows Information Bar may show this message: "The previous webpage might require the following add-on: 'Couponprinter.ocx' from 'Coupons Inc.". Click here to allow it to run..."
  3. Click on the Windows Information Bar and select "Install ActiveX". This will allow the Coupon Printer in Internet Explorer to print coupons

Windows 8 operating system in Metro mode will not be able to print coupons from our site. From the Metro mode start screen, navigate to your desktop, open your browser of choice, visit our site to select and print coupons as you normally would.

Why isn't the web page loading properly on my screen?

If you are trying to load our site and you get an "Access Denied", "The request is being blocked by..." or "Page cannot be displayed" error, or a blank page that says "Done" in the status bar, or you are unable to complete the download of our installer, you are probably being blocked from accessing our site by a local or network firewall setting. Please contact your network administrator about unblocking our domain so you can view and print our coupon offers.

Why won't my coupons print from work or the public library?

If you are trying to print coupons at work, the library, an Internet cafe or University computer lab, you may not have administrative permissions required to download and install programs onto the computer you are using. This may be true even if you've downloaded and installed other files or programs onto this computer. If you are unable to print coupons from a shared computing environment, please contact your system administrator for more information. If you have a home computer, you may find it easier to access and print our coupons there.
